Postdoctoral Research

As a postdoctoral researcher, I have been involved in the following projects:

  • ATRAPA (The Active Travel Backlash Paradox)
  • SATURN (Supporting Active Travel Using Road-lighting at Night)
  • CRUSE (Cycle Route Uptake & Scenario Estimation tool for Transport Infrastructure Ireland)
  • spanishoddata: A package for accessing and analysing large Spanish mobility datasets
  • Examining social inequalities in active commuting to school among Spanish adolescents

Postgraduate Research

My PhD thesis, Cycling and Socioeconomic Disadvantage, is based on four research articles.

  • Cycling and socioeconomic (dis) advantage
  • Cycling behaviour and socioeconomic disadvantage: An investigation based on the English National Travel Survey
  • Infrastructure is not enough: Interactions between the environment, socioeconomic disadvantage, and cycling participation in England
  • Socioeconomic inequalities in cycling safety: An analysis of cycling injury risk by residential deprivation level in England

During my MSc studies, I worked on several projects focusing on active travel and inequalities.

  • Analysing cycling to work in Leeds
  • Seattle’s Bike-share Programme: Visualising current use and predicting future demand
  • Cycling rates, cycle-friendly infrastructure and deprivation in the SLP area
  • Inequalities in active travel in England
  • Walking and cycling in the Upper Calder Valley
